South Korea, located on the southern part of the Korean Peninsula, is an enchanting destination that boasts vibrant cities like the capital, Seoul, the bustling port city of Busan, and the picturesque Jeju Island. Beyond its thriving entertainment industry, the country also offers a wealth of history, captivating traditions, and delectable cuisine such as kimchi, bulgogi, and fried chicken.

The Korean Peninsula was united during the Goryeo (918-1392) and Joseon Dynasties (1392-1910). Modern South Korea emerged after World War II when the Japanese-occupied peninsula was divided at the 38th Parallel. The Soviet Union and the United States occupied the north and south, respectively, leading to the development of separate governments and shaping present-day South Korea.
